Giuseppe Cavaleri is a research assistant with the UFO Study. Before working with the UFO crew in 2010, Giuseppe played a foundational role in the all-volunteer run syringe access program Points of Distribution (POD). In 2006 he starting as an outreach worker serving hard-to-reach and homeless populations in San Francisco and Oakland. POD’s mission at that time was to improve the overall health of people whose lives have been impacted by drug use as well as their friends and neighbors. In 2014, POD refocused its efforts by assisting other service organizations be established across the United States. As a trained DOPE trainer, Giuseppe has distributed Naloxone/ Narcan to those in need since 2006, and worked steadily as a certified HIV test counselor since 2009.
Giuseppe’s free time is split between friends, poetry, art & graphic design, bike rides & high fives, and of course punk rock.
